Big Brown Power Plant

Opened in 1971, the coal-fired power plant was retired in 2018 and acquired by Commercial Liability Partners in 2020. Trifecta Services used explosives to demolish two, 400-foot-tall stacks, two, 450-megawatt generators and associated 225-foot-tall boilers. The company also prepared the site for future redevelopment by conducting a full environmental abatement of the entire property and an anticipated 40,000 tons of steel will be recycled.
