CLT AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL TOWER HAZMAT AND DEMO

Trifecta completed the demolition of the former FAA Air Traffic Control Tower at Charlotte Douglas International Airport in partnership with the Walsh Group. The project involved abatement and the full removal of a 10-story tower and adjacent 25,000 SF administration building, all within active airport constraints.

To safely deconstruct the modular tower, Trifecta identified structural connection points and used a 500-ton crane to lower concrete sections for recycling, followed by mechanical demolition using a Volvo 380 excavator. The team completed the work on schedule, incident-free, and achieved a 95% recycling and salvage rate.
