An Allnex facility located in Willow Island, WV required the removal of 2 90’ tall stainless steel columns (vessels). The columns had not been out of service for over 30 years and the plant had concerns over their structural stability. They were located in an operating facility with active process and electrical lines surrounding them. The Trifecta team was able to rig and crane down the 2 columns with out impacting the facility operations. In order to minimize the amount to hot work, 120,000 lbs of columns were removed in 3 picks using a 550 ton crane and placed in a designated hot work zone for processing.
