The gold standard in controlled implosion.

AVON LAKES POWER PLANT

Avon Lake, Ohio

With a vision for building something meaningful for the Avon Lake community, the city and site owners made the decision to demolish the 1000-megawatt power plant.

They chose Trifecta Services Company as their demolition partner.

A piece of history

The power plant was historic to the city of Avon Lake. Eight of the 12 boilers in place were built in 1921. The historic Turbine Hall and Transformer Building were important to the community.

The demolition of the plant required a precise approach to keep historic landmarks in tact.

“When you're demolishing a site this large, this close to critical infrastructure and a major waterway, the stakes are incredibly high. One mistake could have serious consequences. We treated every phase with surgical precision, from environmental controls to traffic management to structural sequencing. But we also understood this wasn't just a logistical challenge. This site had a story, and the community was watching. We owed it to them to do this right.”
